Internet of Things Summit + Future Technology Conference
We always hear that “Digital Transformation Is The Future.” But is it the “Future?” , to what I see and what I learned from attending the 3rd IOT Summit Philippines 2018, it is “Happening NOW!”.
The 3rd IoT Summit was held last August 17 and 18, 2018 at the Megatrade Hall 3, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
It was a two-day conference and they tackle some of the trends in the world of Internet of Things including Artificial Intelligence, Connected industries, Healthcare, Blockchain, Wearables, etc.

What were the topics discussed in this event and who are the speakers? Read it in my previous article by clicking here.
I was glad that I am one of the few chosen bloggers chosen to cover the event. The event is organized by Red Wizard Events Technology.

I attended on the second day, August 18, but still, I enjoyed and learned a lot. As Wikipedia defines it, The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these things to connect and exchange data. IoT is creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, resulting in efficiency improvements, economic benefits, and reduced human exertions.

With the rise of technology, Internet of Things or simply “IoT” is indeed the “Next Big Thing” in the world of innovation. It makes our lives easier.
Back on the recent years where we only used the Internet to search for information and communication, now it is used for transactions and home devices too.
Different companies showcase their products and services in the exhibit.

From the area of Smart home and Cyber Security

Robotics

Financial institution

and other future software and hardware.

During the conference, as a Social Media Strategist, Blogger and Entrepreneur,
I become aware of how important is IoT in making your business efficient and to work smarter. It is bridging the gap between consumers and businesses.

In Sales, we used to wait for the long queue in the store or by the support team to get attended by a customer service representative. Aside from the pain of wanting to solve the problem, now, it has an added injury in the long wait, and when finally you were there, either they go for a break, or maybe your no longer connected in the line.
Now, one of the solutions is using an Artificial Intelligence application like the chatbots. These chatbots are installed not just on some websites but in your favorite social media channels like Facebook, particularly in Facebook Messenger.

Aside from messenger, different messaging apps surpassed the Social Networking sites, you can also use these platforms for communication and integrate it for business use.

One of the visions of this IoT Summit is to Empower the IoT ecosystem in the Philippines consisting of hardware, software and cloud products.

To prepare the Start up community for 2020, where most devices will be connected to the internet.

And to build a community and train the makers through IoT bootcamp and hackathons. Here are some of the Industries who attended the said event.
