Establish Christian Values In Business

by - March 29, 2020

In these times of trials such as the COVID-19, even businesses were under stress.
How would you keep the candle burning even if it's out of sight?

As a Christian, how do you make a positive impact on the lives of the people around you?
Many businesses just focus on the success of fame and power and forget about the basic provision that God has given us, the blessing of having food in our table, the life that we have each day.

These season reminds us that we are all equal. No matter what your profession is, from where you are at or your financial capability.

Business Owners, business leaders, employers, and the boss should also act as frontliners.
How? It is by establishing Christian values in business.

Be a leader and be reminded of these 3 values.

  1.   Vision and Faith

People who lack vision and hope usually tend to not live longer or easily gave up on life.
Companies that refuse to be imaginative or lacks vision tends to have poor growth.
They are stuck in tradition and set in their ways, and they refuse to change.

Profitable entrepreneurship requires both vision and faith. The entrepreneurial process begins when a person has a vision for a better world and the faith that he can bring that about. That requires faith that the entrepreneur can make his vision a reality. He must do this, even without any proof or evidence that it is possible.

If you have a vision, life becomes fun because now you get to believe God for some things and watch it come to pass. God will plant vision and dreams on the inside of you, call it forth, desire it and speak it, and then claim that it will be given to you.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.   Hebrews 11:1

2.  Perseverance

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial… – James 1:12 a.

Perseverance is the ability to stick to a task, a job, a goal, or even a dream without giving up to despair.  Many of today’s successful businesses were started by individuals who endured failure and learned from it before they experienced success.

Entrepreneurs often face obstacles. Prevailing thought and common wisdom tend to fear and resist change and fear it.  Many see progress and innovation as threatening, and anyone offering to change the status quo will be challenged.

Perseverance is tied directly to faith, of course. It takes a large measure of faith to stand firmly for something when others, including friends and family at times, tell you it cannot be done.

  3.  Sacrifice and Service

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.          - John 15:12-14

Entrepreneurship entails self-denial, frequently carried out intended for the advantage of other people. A successful business owner provides other people with wonderful possibility, difficulty, and cost. Profits are an indicator that the entrepreneur has successfully served others, but the profits only come after the endeavour. Along the way, the entrepreneur may risk income, financial safety for himself and his family, his retirement, his home, and possibly the same of friends and family.

Entrepreneurs make these sacrifices because of the vision they have, and the faith that the sacrifice will pay off by providing a valuable service to others.

Regardless of the success and profitability of a particular idea, the entrepreneur must make good on his commitments and do what it takes to pay off any debts that he may have incurred while pursuing his vision.

Entrepreneurship is as much a process as it is a set of traits. However, certain traits are essential to success and play an important role in how the entrepreneurial process unfolds. These traits–faith, perseverance, sacrifice, and service–are integral characteristics of the Christian as well.  God admires them and encourages us to admire them, too

As a business leader, what is your plan in encouraging business owners or even people around you to keep the faith alive and to be positive ?
